Here's what I did that, for some odd reason, worked: -Right clicked on Outlook Icon, beside the clock on the task bar - Unchecked all the "Show" items - Exited Outlook I have checked out his MS Outlook 2007 and all settings are correct and the alert suppose to show up when new email is received. I am thinking possibly the email envelope seems to work on a user by user basis. Outlook 2016 Notifications Not Working This means that when you have added extra actions to the rule, like forwarding it to another address, those actions won't be executed either.A better solution is to create a generic Thanks...That puts an envelope icon in the notification area (via a rule) when mail arrives, but then you have to double click on the icon to clear it--not exactly the ideal I have 4 accounts, exchange and 2 live accounts works fine.

- Apparently, there is no limit defined on the number of accounts that you can use for creating mail alert rules.
- Your work around yes although it does create duplicates is a great one, although my IMAP creates duplicates and triplicates of everything anyway for some reason but it acts like one

Why should I be FORCED to use "Default (LARGE) Icons" to have the Mail Icon change??? Drag the Desktop Alert to the location that you want. BTW. Outlook 2013 Notifications Thanks.

Check This Out The guys I am talking to at Microsoft are aware that with IMAP accounts by design it should not work with Outlook 2010 and indeed with any other Outlook version.
It even notifies you if new mail ends up in your Junk EMail folder, twice (once for the original and once for the move done by Outlook junk filtering) Totally agree, I fo not understand why it was on trial.
