Volume Pot Won T Turn Off
I'm curious about this, as I only have three wires coming out of each pickup, but this looks more like five. The red wire should be to the left. les paul a few years back with EMG's in it (81bridge 85 neck) and it did the same thing your talking about where the rythm pickup would never shut off 100%..i It would be extremely helpful if you could take some decent pictures of the wiring, then get them uploaded and linked on here May 23, 2010, 5:56 PM Like Reply Quote have a peek here
Did you change out the output jack? Did you change out the output jack? Just make sure you put the controls in the same way the strat is set-up, with the volume first, then the two tone pots. As long as everything is laid in the cavity right, you shouldn't have an issue with the new system.

I test voltage on all my new batteries. -Just trying to weed out the obvious problems that many people forget to check. I'll take a look at that schematic to see if it helps. Does it turn off the volume with the volume knob all the way down?

It goes from relatively quiet at 0-5 to a bit more at 5-9, to a sudden loud at 10. - they aren't that expensive..
- I thought at first it could be the switch itself not making contact, but it seems to be doing so just fine.
- Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Surely they must be aware of it, but I'd just wait until they phone you up Reply With Quote 08-12-2010,09:21 AM #25 SeanDoesGuitar Junior Member Join Date Aug 2010 Posts 16 However on standard volume pot wiring each pot will lower the volume of both pickups, not just it's own. Volume Pot Won T Turn Off If that don't work, then like you initially said, one of the pots might be bad. Guitar Volume Control Not Working If its the pot then I can deal but I'll need a diagram for a master volume and individual tones for the pickups, if theres anyone that has a diagram like

EDIT: It IS possible to get a tone for each pickup w/ master volume (typical Strat set-up...), but I only have the diagram for use with the solderless 3-way blade switch... If I were a betting man, I'd bet that your problem lies there. It sounds like a short someplace. POSSIBLE that it turns down the gain/volume a quarter of the total amount.. http://myfreepsd.com/not-working/why-are-my-volume-keys-not-working-mac.html Everything else on my Tele works just fine.
I had to reposition the lugs so that they made contact with the wiper in the appropriate positions. Now the volume, toggle, and tone control work, but it still has the same tone - it feels as if all the signal isn't getting through, and it's really bass-y with Thanks.
that's all I can gather..
Before i de-string it and take a look at the EMG's themselves i hoped someone may have an idea whats going on, since i'm totally noob to active pickup where the that all the pickups are weak definitely points to wiring, not the pickups themselves. It didn't change anything. Could that be my issue?
The control cavity on my Carpenter 7-string is crammed between the EMG solderless 5-way switch, the 3 pickup wires, the 2 mini-toggle switches, the volume pot and the Afterburner. also, that other wire might be the ground for the bridge, if it is, you dont have to worry about that with EMG's, you can just leave it attached to nothing Defiantly, I got a phone call from the local dealer saying it came in but they aren't open on Mondays, so it looks like Tuesday will be my magic day. this contact form Having output when the volume is turned down I believe is usually indicative of grounding (although I am fairly new to electronics.) I just think Murphy would say that there is
