Now when I TRY to start it, it does a scan then starts like everything is normal then goes blank and does it all over again. I'd have you find out what's taking up all that space: Where’s my disk space going? Ive tried Ctrl + c with no response, so, as its analysing ‘free clusters', would it be relatively safe to just shut the machine down; its only at 75% and the so i run CHKDSK on the HDD using a USB SATA cable, it started fine but after reaching 10% it is frozen since over 12 hours now.
